Effective 27 September 2026 · Version 1.0
Terms of use
The agreement between you and JamaBook. Short, and written to be read.
§1 Scope
What JamaBook is not
JamaBook is bookkeeping software. It does not lend money, does not broker or arrange loans, and is not a bank, NBFC or financial institution of any kind. Every lending decision, interest rate, penalty and recovery action is yours alone.
You are responsible for complying with the law that applies to your lending — including any registration or licensing your state requires, and the Reserve Bank of India's directions on fair practices and recovery conduct.
The payment reminders the app composes are deliberately polite and carry no threat. You must not edit them into anything that intimidates, threatens or harasses a customer. Doing so may be a criminal matter, and it is yours.
§2 Account
Your account
You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password. Keep your phone and your PIN secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account, including by agents you add to your book.
Switching an agent off in the app removes their access. Do it promptly when someone leaves.
§3 Accuracy
Figures and accuracy
The app computes balances, interest, penalties and profit from the figures you enter. Check them. We are not liable for any loss arising from a mistyped amount, a missed instalment, a wrongly configured rate, or a decision taken on a figure you did not verify.
Receipts marked void remain in the book rather than disappearing, so an audit trail survives. Your ledger is yours to reconcile.
§4 Service
Availability and data
JamaBook is provided as it stands. The app is built to keep working offline, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that the server is always reachable.
Export your data regularly. CSV export is built in, and keeping your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose is your responsibility.
We may change or discontinue features. Where a change materially affects how the app works, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
§5 Ads
The free plan
The free plan is supported by banner advertising and has no limit on customers, loans or receipts. Ads never appear on the Collect screen or on a receipt. A paid plan removes advertising entirely.
§6 Law
Liability and governing law
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to JamaBook is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost business.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, with jurisdiction in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
